Would mini-grip clips work on cuben fiber to make a simple tarp?

Grip clips are heavy- wouldn't that kind of go against the reason to buy Cuben in the first place?
I don't see they wouldn't work…

They weigh .085 oz each, according to their website. So even 10 would be .8 oz! (I've used them to add side pull outs on a GoLite Hut and they work great!
