Linelocs – a very basic question

I've got line-locs on a MLD tarp. The line from the peg goes through the hole nearest the tarp, and you feed it through the farthest away hole. Here are a couple of pics.

Cut 'em off and use a Taut-line Hitch :)

Those linelocs only work with a certain size guyline also. If too small it will not jam in the little v notch on the underside of the loc. I had this problem, triptease size texture works well.

Don't cut them off. Unless you are trying for a sub-5 load, then they are a no brainer in cold temps. Very simple and quick to use. I've found a dyneema 2mm line here in the UK that works well.

Edited to change 1.5mm to 2mm.

Thank you for the informative pictures! It now seems rather obvious where before, I was completely confused. Thank you so much for the advice; I really appreciate it! I am looking forward to taking out the tarp and giving it a go!
