Hello all,

A clarification from Komperdell:

"The ad (in the Backpacker Gear Guide) is about our full Carbon poles series and the lightest one (C1 Carbon Tour Pro) starts at 4,9 ounces.

The weight of the C3 Carbon Powerlock Men pole is 254 gram (weight without basket)"

To clarify-

The C1 Carbon Tour is a fixed pole similar to the Featherlite but with a new grip: 5.1 oz claimed

The C2 Carbon Tour is almost identical to the existing C2 (with Powerlock- similar to Flicklock by BD) but with the new grip: 5.7 oz claimed for the 125cm "women" version

The C3 Carbon Powerlock is similar to the current C3 but with Powerlocks, a new grip, and an aluminum lower: 7.3 oz for the "women" 125cm version.

Note- the C3 is a weight INCREASE of approx. 1.4 oz.

So you can expect a wider use of the Powerlock from Komperdell for 2009 and the new grip. However, lighter weights are NOT on the table.
