I've been chafe free on all trips and day hikes I've worn the BPL thorofare trekking pants, even when hiking in the pouring rain. While not exactly gear, being chafe free has made my trips much more enjoyable.

edit : I was using Rail RIders pants with full side zips ventilation and ex-officio boxer brief underwear. I still use the boxer briefs with the bpl pants.

Six Moon Designs Comet pack. It's the one gear item that I've never been tempted to change since I bought it!

My Gatewood Cape. I can't get over how easy it is to set up, how roomy it is, how little it weighs (10 oz), and how inexpensive it is (~$100). Wahoo!

> From packed to hot water is less than 3 minutes.
That is based on Jetboil's marketing spiel, not your own personal experience, right?

Cheers

I would have to say…My home made cat can and flashing wind screen .5 oz alc stove. Has worked great down to the breezy 17 deg. trips. Tucked inside my MSR ti.kettle w/ 2.0 0z fuel…..
