Dear Ron at MLD,

It seems that after buying all of your gear, I am spending way too much time on the trail and away from home and my wife is not all that happy with me.

Apparently, I have been gone so much that when I come home the dog growls at me and my 5 yr old daughter has forgotten who I am.

To make things worse, it seems that after all those months on the trail, I have inadvertanly developed some sort of Cuben Fiber fetish which is effecting my "marital life".

Well, my wife has just about had enough of it all and is threatening to leave me if things don't improve in the bedroom and at home in general.

Viagra does not seem to do much for me, other than to make me light headed.

Sooo, I was wondering if you might be able to make a Cuben Fiber night gown with some 850 down fill insulation to descretely provide some warmth for her and to remind me of my beloved sleeping bag.

I think that the fact that the Cuben Fiber is semi translucent would be the best material to use vs. silnylon.

Also, do you think you could make a matching garter belt of Titanium?

Good luck with that. Buying a new car usually works better for me than lingerie. Expecially Cuben lingerie.

Face it, Tony, you're already in the dog house and things will just get worse from here.

As a fellow hiker, I think it is only right to offer up sunny southern Cal as a great place to visit and hike. Come on down any time. Oh, and don't forget to bring all your gear down with you! :)

Tony, you’re in luck! I’ve been perusing the MLD pages recently and it seems that they are one step ahead of you. Okay, so they’re not about to make a cuben night gown BUT it appears that they will be releasing a line of lingerie made from dyneema x fabric. Check out the materials page and you will see the following in the description for dyneema x:

An additional X patten of Nylon overweave improves abrasion and tear resistance and is beautiful enough for intimate apparel

So there you have it. Soon you can match your backpack to your underpants, and your wife will be begging you to dress up “in uniform” (we all know women love guys in uniform!). And when things turn amorous you’ll be comforted by the fact that your underwear features superior abrasion and tear resistance — each dyneema thread can hold over 150lbs!

Ashley,

ROTFLMAO!!!!

Well done, I totally did not know Ron had that little bit slipped into his fabric mojo page!

And yes, this really should be under chaff.

See what happens when I have a little free time at work?

Hummmm, Dyneema that could work. Do you think that Ron will respond to my request?

God, I need to go to my support group this week. :(

Well Tony, I was going to suggest you model your rain chaps for Pat…just the chaps…nothing more…just the chaps…and her, in her new Cuben Fiber negligee…should do the trick.

I'm sure your Saturday Support Group session will pull you thru.

Nutrition is really important when dealing with spouse and family issues. Hub-Caps doubles as group therapy.

Tony……… I must remember to never buy a used sleeping bag from you in gear swap.
