I’m looking for a backpack. My problem is I have a roughly 24” torso and thus an extremely hard fit in a world made for medium people. I’d like to simply purchase a GoLite Jam, but it doesn’t fit. In fact, most things don’t fit as has been proven by being a frequent customer of the U.S. Postal Service from constantly returning things.
I’m looking for something between 2400-3000 cu/in, preferably made of Dyneema X, and hip-belt pockets are a must. I’d prefer under 2 pounds even though some of those listed below (i.e. Circuit) may be slightly over.
My options are:
2009 ULA Circuit
2009 SMD Starlite, Traveler, or Comet
2009 MLD Ark or Exodus
I know with 100% certainty that the ULA Circuit fits…and is a great pack. I just want to know if the others will fit and whether their load transfers well…as well as general thoughts. Without food and water, I’m at less than 8 pounds during summer and under 13 during winter….so push that to 25 pounds or so with food and water for a couple days.
