Montbell O.D.Compact Dripper?

I've used the larger of the two but not for coffee. I use it with my SteriPen as a pre screen to get out particles from my drinking water.

I think it works great!

I've been using coffee filters as a pre-filter. This is a perfect substitute that i can use forever! :)

does anyone know when/if more of these will be available anywhere. I saw one site that offers them but they've been out of stock for months.

Can you comment on the actual diameter of the #4 size? I'm debating between the #2 and the #4 to use as a pre-filter for a wide mouth nalgene canteen. I have a gravity filter setup in mind and this would be an integral part for filtering out particulate, etc. like you mentioned.

Hmm, well I don't have the #4 O.D. Compact Dripper on me so I can't tell you the dimensions.

I can say that the open end of the #4 dripper is about an inch wider than the opening for a wide mouth nalgeen canteen. I think the open end diameter of the #4 is around 4 1/2"

ok i think just to be safe i will order the #4.

Do you use sticks to support it or just kind of set it in your bottle's mouth and hold it in place while you pour?

I just stuff in into my bottles and pour the water in. There is no need to hold onto the O.D. Dripper, it's too wide to fall through the bottles mouth.
