Wasn't sure whether to put this under gear or food . . .
Anybody else heard of this stuff?
Jun 30, 2008 at 1:14 pm #1440856Margaret, the site is a spoof — like this one.
Jun 30, 2008 at 3:21 pm #1440882What's bizarre is that the dehydrated water site actually lets you pay for their bogus wares via PayPal.
Jun 30, 2008 at 5:01 pm #1440894AnonymousInactiveAs H. L. Mencken once observed: "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the American public".
Jun 30, 2008 at 5:30 pm #1440901HAHA! I've seen the water site before, but this one almost had me. Thanks for bringing me back to earth.
Jun 30, 2008 at 5:49 pm #1440904"Nobody ever went broke underestimating the American public."
That's what Yamamoto thought… :)
Jun 30, 2008 at 6:11 pm #1440906Hey Ben,
You need to watch those racial slurs – I think?
Jun 30, 2008 at 6:17 pm #1440907Bill, I referred to a specific individual. If you know your history, then you should know his pivotal role.
Racial? Slur? You need to stop reading things that aren't there, I think?
Jun 30, 2008 at 6:26 pm #1440910.
Jun 30, 2008 at 6:30 pm #1440912"Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby"
So true, and Bush is a fine example.
Jul 1, 2008 at 3:42 pm #1441081AnonymousInactiveActually, Yamamoto didn't underestimate the American public. He knew the odds weren't very good, but maybe a sucker punch would take America down long enough for Japan to cement its position in the Far East to the point that there would be no effective response. Now, if you fast forward ~60 years, it ain't Japan who's going broke. You just gotta take the long view, Ben. ;}
Jul 1, 2008 at 3:45 pm #1441082I think Mr.Tang actually said something pro-American.

Jul 2, 2008 at 1:39 pm #1441215At least they removed the highly toxic Hydrogen Hydroxide ;)
Jul 2, 2008 at 3:52 pm #1441225"…the highly toxic Hydrogen Hydroxide"
:) Well, now I just have to mention this site:
http://www.dhmo.org/Jul 2, 2008 at 4:00 pm #1441226AnonymousInactiveAt least they removed the highly toxic Hydrogen Hydroxide ;)
Leaving the even more toxic deuterium and tritium oxides….
Jul 2, 2008 at 4:18 pm #1441229Ben, I think that you missed the tongue-in-cheek comment from Bill…
But seriously, for three years I have paid my dues and faithfully read every thread here trying to find water that weights less than the one I use, nothing..not one decent suggestion. (helium balloons don't do it for me)
Considering all the scientists, experts and smarty pants around here, someone ought to come up with a solution.
FrancoJul 2, 2008 at 4:20 pm #1441231is how a topic on BPL can twist and turn in totally unexpected directions! We start with an innocent spoof, a pertinent response, then on to sociology and politics — with an interruption from one idiotic accusation of racism — and now delving ever deeper into chemistry! :)
Jul 2, 2008 at 4:47 pm #1441237AnonymousInactiveFWIW, I think you're taking this way too seriously, Ben. Any thread that starts with dehydrated H2O as the topic is "a spoof, the whole spoof, and nothing but the spoof", from beginning to end. Even the racism bit; I mean, how does one seriously accuse a person of Chinese ethnicity who makes a sarcastic comment about a person of Japanese ethnicity of racism? Whichever way Bill intended it, I thought it was pretty funny and sort of fit right in with the general spoofiness. But then, I'm a guy who can laugh when he looks in the mirror…..
Jul 2, 2008 at 4:57 pm #1441240Au contraire… I am not being serious — which is what the :) emoticon is all about. To me it is almost always fascinating to trace topic tangents on this (and other) forum.
As for the comment on racism, I call it idiotic both because of what it is and because I find it strangely… well, idiotic! :)
Jul 2, 2008 at 5:13 pm #1441245AnonymousInactiveFWIW, idiocy has always played a prominent role in comedy. :(
Jul 2, 2008 at 5:36 pm #1441258I'm working on the design for boots made of fruit leather.
Jul 2, 2008 at 5:46 pm #1441261Fruit leather? Sweet! :)
Jul 2, 2008 at 5:56 pm #1441264Denis,
I hope that you're going to put OP Sacks over the fruit leather boots to keep the bears at bay. -
