Actually, Yamamoto didn't underestimate the American public. He knew the odds weren't very good, but maybe a sucker punch would take America down long enough for Japan to cement its position in the Far East to the point that there would be no effective response. FWIW, I think you're taking this way too seriously, Ben. Any thread that starts with dehydrated H2O as the topic is "a spoof, the whole spoof, and nothing but the spoof", from beginning to end. Even the racism bit; I mean, how does one seriously accuse a person of Chinese ethnicity who makes a sarcastic comment about a person of Japanese ethnicity of racism? Whichever way Bill intended it, I thought it was pretty funny and sort of fit right in with the general spoofiness. But then, I'm a guy who can laugh when he looks in the mirror…..
