I have a question about the Nunatak Ghost.

At the shoulder/chest is there enough girth to wear an insulated jacket like a Skaha or Micropuff? 46" seems very narrow, as my JRB is 48" and it won't fit a jacket. I've had the Specialist and found the width more than enough, and I am wondering if I could get away with a Ghost.

I'm 5' 8" 39" shoulder, 150lbs.

Also, how do you find the footbox at 34", I don't wear insulated booties, just thin socks, size 9 shoe. Is it super snug or just right for you?

Thanks!

I reviewed the Ghost and found it way too narrow – clothes or no clothes. I then sold it on eBay to someone who also found it too narrow. I am a side sleeper, which doesn't help at all so maybe if you lay calmly on your back all night it could work.

Personally, I'd go for the Arc Specialist and boost the fill by 2oz and the baffles to 2".

There's a review on this site.

I found it to be fine and I'm also a side sleeper. I've got an average build but probably on the trim side. I like a narrow bag anyway.

No doubt though that it is a narrow cut, as Petras has said. I don't think there's any chance I could use an Arc Edge….

I found having a quilt as wide as my girth (measured around my chest and including the arms) was the best cold-weather quilt width for me (ie: seal out drafts, or room to layer 2-3" of puffy clothing). For summer use a width about 10% narrower was fine for me, but a little breezy once in a while. I'm a restless side sleeper though, so scale accordingly.
