Thanks for sharing. It makes me want a beer or ice cream or a twist…not sure. :)

Thanks – I'm sorting through the next 300 pictures now. Still hungry. Three months later :-D

Hello Ed, your trip reports are always great, thanks. I am curious to know what equipment changes you made in anticipation of the cross country trips you made this year vs. the CT last year, and your conclusions now about what worked best when deviating from basic trail walking. I am considering doing some of the SHR next year and in particular wonder about swapping out my trail runners for something else.

Thanks all. Cameron – I cut my base as low as it would go; about 5-6Kgs with a can. Main change was on the feet – I went with La Sportiva Explorers which were excellent on rock and had more of a toe rand than my usual trail runners (Wildcats); the Explorers were trashed after 200 miles. I swapped them for a pair of Brooks Cascadia and did the Wind Rivers High Route in those – and to be honest they were fine too. If you message me an e-mail address I can send you a gear list? Or catch me on trek-lite if that is you there.

Thanks chaps. It is the standard Solomid Bradford. If you take a look at my Wind Rivers High Route trip report one of the guys I did that with used a Solomid XL in cuben.
