New Borah eVent bivy – 12.5 oz!

Herm… The velcro closure on the old one is one of the major reasons I sold mine.

I’m tempted by this.

has anyone actually gotten one and weighed it?  The old snowyside bivy was always over spec.  If it is close to 12.5 oz. at that price it is an incredible deal.

14.4oz with sack and mesh netting for mine (in green)

Mine is 14.4oz all together as well, about 13.5oz without the mesh or stuff sack. Color is blue, so seems like 14.4 may be a trend

Close enough weight wise for me. I want to know how it performs in the field. I’m still waiting for mine to arrive from the Black Friday sale. Living vicariously through others until then.

The weights do tend to vary a little bit with these depending on color. When we made up that batch of 30 in gray that was sent to Massdrop, those came in nice and light at about 12.3oz. We burned through that bolt quickly though, and are now on to other bolts, which are tending to be a little higher (about 13-13.5oz like others have posted here). The yellow we stock is actually a bit lighter, with a finished weight of about 12oz, but it is the brightest yellow I’ve ever set eyes on so I haven’t had the courage to unleash that upon anyone yet who didn’t request a color when they ordered.

We have about 10-15 different bolts right now so I am still experimenting with the other colors to see if any other rolls are the same o/sy, I’m hoping that some of them will be back down to that 12.5oz range.

I agree with the above. Mine arrived and weighed in at 13.05 oz (Gray Color) but I had it shortened to 6′ (vice 6’6″) as I’m vertically challenged….and had a longer side zipper added. Overall, it is a nicely designed and well constructed bivy.

I have a yellow one on order.

Got mine today! 14.2oz in the sack with the netting. Now to take it out.
