This REI outlet sale started today and runs until August 9th. There are over 850 items discounted at least 70% so take a look while they still have a decent selection. It looks like they are making some room for their fall and winter inventory.

Failure to remind that you are making money off others linking through your website.

Is there some xxxx redirect built into the shortened link?

Based on past practices, I have to assume so.

And if so, I for one continue to be sick of the bc25.com "use" of this forum.

Here it is minus the affiliate marketing crap:

I don't think there is anything wrong with affiliate marketing (heck, I get a very modest amount myself), but using someone else's resource for free advertising is poor form IMO.

If someone went to the xxxx site directly due to a pertinent link in a thread, that would be another story..also IMO.

Guys, if you see no value in what we do then please say so and we will never share any of the deals again in the BPL forum

Can you be upfront on what the forum user is clicking on? I don't expect you'll disappear!

Mike, I think what everyone is saying is that this community is built on a spirit of sharing and helping, and if that is what you are offering then do so without making money on it. If, on the other hand, you do want to pass these tips along with the chance to make a bit on it, then communicate that. Nothing necessarily wrong with doing that, but it needs transparency — without disclosure it comes off as sleazy. Are you offering a helping hand or are you driving business? Either way it should be clear.

As of today, I have found no value in the bc25.com posts. That *could* change, but I don't expect it to.

I completely agree that full disclosure of the poster's opportunity for financial gain based on posted link clicks must be clearly stated in the post.

Another vote here for no value. Even if you are up front about it, you're still just using the BPL community to spam your business.

Get this guy out of here please. Absolutely no value added.

Just a leech; shady as shade.

Well, he's already been warned about the driving traffic through a bc25.com link repeatedly, so then he is apparently purposefully hiding the redirect in a shortened URL. C'mon now.

So…. to answer your questions, yes, I see no value in what you do so I am saying so and I hope that you will never share any of the deals again in the BPL forum.

I own BC25.com and get a payment for every sale referred through one of my affiliate links such as the one above. This small commission pays for the time all of us spend hunting deals, getting exclusive coupon codes, writing articles and reviewing gear.

bc25 has been around for over 4 years now. We have over 13000 social media fans and followers and a very substantial newsletter subscriber base. Every one loves deals so the feedback has been fantastic so far. We spend over 100 day / year in the backcountry so this was born out of a passion for outdoors and not to make a quick buck.

I truly appreciate the feedback again and do know that posting in the BPL forum is a privilege not a right.
