Earlier on I was watching through a window my cat make friends with a new neighbour's cat when a deer snuck up them, I realized the deer was getting aggressive so had to run out and chase it away.

The photo was taken through a window with mesh so excuse the poor quality, it's also a cropped image.

Edit: The deer was a good bit away from that cat when I started to take photo, I did not think it would go near the cat, I have seen dozens of deer on the property and never had any issues with them.

Perhaps she has a new fawn. Here's a photo at my house a couple weeks ago…doe & fawn

That could make sense.

Nice photo.

The other cat was fawn coloured so maybe the deer thought my cat was attacking it (I probably am wrong though)

Edit: Just noticed the typos on my first post, that's what I get for using a phone with predictive text.

coyotes ate two of my cats

all the outside cats eventually died from one reason or another

I live in the middle of the city

a coyote walked down the middle of the street once

Fawn nearby is the most likely answer,

Or the deer could have just been more of a "dog person"..:)

"all the outside cats eventually died from one reason or another"

Have the indoor cats discovered the key to immortality?

Sorry to hear that coyotes killed your cats.

Had to laugh at that Jimmer :-)

Hi Ken,

I did read somewhere that cats that are
inside all the time live longer, our cat only goes out during the day and stays inside all
winter, if it's raining she sits on the porch.

Many years ago I saw a group of does tree a cat. It was in the winter and I saw my neighbor's cat leaping through the snow. Was wondering why it was doing that when I saw a deer coming up behind it and more following. The snow was deep enough the cat couldn't outrun them and instead went up a tree. The doe thugs circled the tree and watched the cat for a bit then eventually lost interest and left. I can't imagine what the cat did to annoy the deer.

A month ago a young bull elk had one our llamas backed against a fence and wouldn't let him get away. My daughter heard the llama alarming and went down to chase off the elk. Elk are normally pretty skittish (except for bulls during the rut). He wouldn't leave until she picked up a 10' piece of PVC we use to herd the llamas when catching them and waved it at him. Then he turned and ran at the other llama and chased him across the pasture. He came back later that day and started heading for the llamas but I ran him off. Very strange behavior. But wildlife is highly unpredictable.

Yep, they are sure are unpredictable Randy.

I like in a semi rural area, I often see lots of wildlife but never had issues before this.

We are convinced that our cat thinks he's a cougar. He likes to stalk the deer in our yard.

I think I hear the ghost of Bob Gross.

see what I mean?

cat's aren't afraid of Cougar. That one would have been eaten if it was an outdoor cat : )

They should have violently chased that Cougar off. Thrown things at it. Yelled. With cats in separate room and never getting far from door in case Cougar retaliates. You don't want Cougars to be comfortable around people.
