"Uses 18650 battery. Guess these are getting more popular."

Exactly.

One year ago I would have steered clear of a special battery like that. However, for the last six months I have used them a lot, and I find them to be very practical. However, for UL purposes they are kind of marginally heavy. I guess it just depends on what you are trying to do.

One of my headlamps uses the 18650 battery, and I can use it for wildlife illumination for photography.

The Convoy S2 is a terrific little torch as all the Convoys I've owned have been. Works as a great EDC although the C8 is a better all around performer.

Hi May,

Thanks for the post. First, I've ordered from Gearbest.com before and have been happy with the products and price, but both times the shipping has taken 2 months even after paying for 6-8 day shipping. I understand a lot of the products are coming from China and Asia, but 2 months is unacceptable.

If Gearbest.com could consistently have items delivered to my house within 2 weeks from the time I order, I would order a LOT more things. Is this possible?

Sincerely,
Don Burton

Why the flood light?

I'm seeing a lot of small powerful lights being flood lights, but I can't imagine a situation where i would need this much intensity over a short distance.

I think it would make more sense to make this light with a lens that has a long throw – that way for "localized" usage you put it on smallest output while around camp. But if you need to navigate at night or signal – then use full power.

For example I've picked up one of these in about 2006 and to this day, this is my perfect light:

http://randywakeman.com/RiverRockPerfectCircle30HourLEDFlashlight.htm

(Funny story: I've bought and used one of these for a long time, that is until I dropped it inside a wall (un-insulated drywall between two rooms) while drilling at an odd angle for CAT6 installation in my home). Since i'm not able to find these for sale anywhere, I'm considering opening the wall to retrieve the light. It's that good in my opinion.)

Any plans to make a focused lens version of your flood light?

Hi Don Burton,

Thanks for your order, and I'm sorry but sometimes some items are really hot, and sell quickly, needing to restock, sometime it's even out of stock in our supplier, so it takes a longer time to ship out, beg your understanding, but many our product if you pay via a Expedited Shipping or Standard Shipping, it may have the chance to reach you in 2 weeks.

Lucky is needed

Hi Yuri

> Any plans to make a focused lens version of your flood light?
Gearbest do not MAKE the Sunree headlamps, they just sell them. You would have to ask Sunree.

I am not sure you have understood the specs. The flood part of the beam is achieved by a special asymmetrical reflector. The high intensity is for the focused part of the beam.

Cheers
