I know of three other BPL members here in Humboldt. Frank, John and Jim. Any others?

Ken,
I'll be out of the county for three months, so I will not be around for any planned trips. I'm working in the Eldorado National Forest this summer.

Sometimes. My daughter lives within walking distance of Humbolt State. I'll be spending more and more time up there. The CEO of the Gatel Household, which obviously is not me, has issued Executive Order #12,407 that requires all members of said household to retire by the end of 2016.
My son-in-law has expressed an interest in backpacking (I bought him a canister stove last Chrostmas), and my son who often visits his sister is a backpacker. So I foresee a lot of time up there, assuming I don't croak first.
Thanks for the update you two. Bundle up when you come Nick. When was the last time you saw temps in the 50's?
Ha! I was hiking in afternoon snow flurries last weekend down here. I spent some time up your way last year and it was generally overcast, foggy, drizzly, and windy. It was like a trio to an alien planet. But the Redwoods like the weather and I like Redwoods.

As Billy Joel sang – only the good die young. So guys like me and you, Nick, are going to be around for a very long time. Guys like Ken T., damn, he'll probably live past 100, which is, I think, how old Tom K. is right now…

Even more impressive if measured on a words per insult basis. Maybe not quite up to Churchill standards …. but close
Doug,
Thanks for the compliment. I see no insults in your post.
