I'm looking for a shuttle to pick me up from Usal Beach campground and shuttle me up to Mattole beach on May 28.

I think there are 2 shuttle services but I'm hoping to find some other options to save money. Maybe a local. Or if someone wants to share a shuttle.

Sorry to start another post but I didn't want it to get buried in my original Lost Coast post.

Have you contacted the two shuttles to see if they are going that route anyway? You might miss out having them as an option if you wait much longer.

In a last ditch effort to offset the cost, I wanted to post that my friend and I have scheduled a shuttle pick up for early afternoon (~2pm) from Usal on Thur May 28. We are welcoming anyone to jump on the shuttle and share the cost. I'm not positive but I'm guessing that the shuttle could probably stop in Shelter Cove to pick up hikers around 4-5pm if they wanted to only do the Northern portion of the trail. PM me if you're interested.

May I ask what that cost you two. You can PM me if you would rather not say here. I would hazard to guess that going to Shelter Cove won't happen as it would be way out the way time wise.

Ken,

Thanks for being sensitive. Yes, it was expensive. I thought about putting an ad on Craigslist for half the price. I've done it before without any problems but it's a little more stress because the person could just not show up. My friend and I are on a really tight schedule because of our work schedules and didn't want to worry about not doing the hike we wanted. The shuttle will also pick us up mid hike at Black Sands beach and drop us off at the Hidden Valley trailhead. Thanks for the heads up on the route north. I had assumed we'd pass through town.
