I'm looking for a pack of playing cards that are low weight….at least mini size, maybe even micro size.
The kicker…is that I would still want at least decent quality. Anybody know a brand or source of a decent lightweight deck?

See nothing that you like at Amazon? A search for mini playing cards yielded many choices. Hoyle?
I searched amazon…most of the decks were "party favor" type decks, or knockoffs like this one once you read the comments ->
So I was hoping someone that was able to find a deck that was actually decent quality in mini/micro size.

“They are 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. Each deck is a complete poker deck including jokers.”
What would be the market for mini playing cards outside of the novelty industry? Can you give an example of what you mean by decent quality?
Kids.
Our toy shop has a variety of minis.
Regular, Old Maid, ….
Also mini card games of "pattern recoginition", something like dominoes, another like sets or null sets.
They are great for backpacking. Especially for rain, and for trying to stay awake till 9.
Looks like Bicycle may no longer be making the Hoyle Mini playing cards – good quality, standard Bicycle back. I've got a pack I picked up on Amazon a year back but they're not there any more. 42g with box, 38g without, you could save another hair if you left the jokers behind.
A search for "Hoyle Playing Cards Mini" turns up a few vendors with them still in stock such as http://www.kardwell.com/page/KII/CTGY/HOYLE-MINIATURE
Or…take a regular deck and a paper cutter and cut each card in half? You'll get two decks that way.
KEM made quality miniature playing cards – Approx 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" each. They were vintage, but there was a reissue in the 80's so they pop up on eBay once and a while.
I haven't owned or used these, but I have seen good reviews online. All of the miniature ones I've tried aren't quality and don't last long so I carry a full sized deck of the more 'plastic' variety when I take cards on the trail.
How can you play duplicate bridge without decks of Kem cards?

There must be some smart phone app? That wouldn't weigh anything extra if you carried phone anyway.
An app wouldn't help play group games….Egyptian ratscrew, war, spades, hearts, scumbucket, etc.
If you had an app to play Egyptian ratscrew, it would work? Would each person need a smart phone? If you didn't have enough human players, you could have bot players? It wouldn't let you cheat which could be good or bad. Or maybe the app would allow you to cheat?
Trust me, it wouldn't work, even if everyone had a smart phone and battery life wasn't an issue. Egyptian ratscrew is all about speed and slapping the cards on certain patterns first (kind of like spoons but with cards).
that sounds like Nerts
might work with something like bridge
maybe you need full sized cards for the full experience
Ok, after doing some research on mini cards (sometimes I get fixated on research on dumb stuff that really doesn't matter…I watched too many youtube videos on mini cards today), I bought 2 decks of hoyle mini cards here ->
themagicwarehouse.com
Its a legitimate website, with authentic cards. Amazon had too many nongenuine sellers. Magicwarehouse also had reasonable shipping and definitely good prices on the decks. $1.50 each which is way cheaper than anywhere else, and 1 deck was $3.50 shipping, 2 decks $4.50, 3 decks..I think $5, and then went up to priority after that ($6). So 1 deck is $5, 2 decks $7.50, 3 decks $9.50.
I bought 2 decks.
Anyway, if you want a different option…look here ->

Mini artifice ones are supposed to feel the best (get blue or tundra though due to some messed up color mistakes on the other colors), though the reviews are from magicians where card "feel" is extremely important. More expensive than the hoyles…at $7.80 for 1 and $13.66 for 2.
I looked at micro cards….but they are all "party" favor type stock and finish (paper quality very low) and almost impossible to handle b/c of the size. So go with mini cards. Should be slightly over an 1oz. Much better than my 3oz standard deck of cards. Probably the cheapest way to save 2 oz (if you bring cards).
Just throwing this out there…but I received the playing cards, and they are genuine Hoyle cards. Feel great to me…I wouldn't spend the extra money on the artifice cards.
I was worried that it would be a lot harder to shuffle, but no issues so far. Shuffle real well and feel like they can take some abuse like a normal card would.
edit: Forgot to mention….they do weigh a bit more than I was hoping, but not by much. They weigh 42g (1.5oz) with box, 39g (1.4oz) without box. I was hoping for something more like 1.1, 1.2oz.
I just came across a set of Bicycle Rider Back Playing Cards, Miniature 404 sitting in a drawer. I'd gladly PIF them to you if you are interested. They are unused.
Very kind of you Ken…I would love to compare the two makers. PM sent.
Will send ASAP.
Thanks to Ken, I was able to receive a deck of mini bicycle cards.
Exact same size, and they say they were both made by the us playing card company, though I've heard from somewhere else where they both probably were not.
Regardless, I think the actual card stock is the same between the cards, and they feel about the same. The Hoyle cards are brighter though and more vibrant colors, so I think Hoyle is a great way to go for cheap.
I know this is a old post but…. Hoyle is known for good cards. they do have some smaller cards just go to there site
