I originally ordered 2…and my kids were playing with a red one in the yard and it was run over with a lawnmower. Ordered 2 orange for hivis digging!

I have one…it is a neat little thingamabob.

Naturally, Mrs Mags liked it too. Which means she would steal mine and I'd have to order one for myself. :)

One ugly color is now on its way. Thank you!

Mike, how about if Mags and I just drop by and pick them up at the source, and save the postage? I probably live just a mile or two from you. By the way, Steve Conway at McGuckin's said theyve sold scads of them. People love those Deuces!

Why not…an "Ugly Orange" poop trowel is something I've always wanted to show off to my friends. Great conversation piece, maybe just not at the table :)

Perfectly happy with the green one I've already got…so ordered a black second to keep it company. I guess that makes a deuce of deuces!

Dos Deuces for me too! I have a few friends that need to stop borrowing my scooper…

Thx

Mark, what do you mean by 5.3 ounces? This doesn't make any sense.

Mike and Mark.

I just can't figure out what 5.3 ounces is all about.

On his website it says they weigh .6 oz rounded up. 28.35 g = 1 oz. 15 g/28.35 g = .53 oz.

Simple decimal placement error.

"I just can't figure out what 5.3 ounces is all about."

I think I can.

15 grams = 0.529109 ounces which rounds to .53 ounces.

Someone slipped with the decimal point. Happens all the time. In Science News. In New England Journal of Medicine. Even more in the popular press.

Bugs the hell out of me.

But it doesn't surprise or mystify me.

Ordered a ugly black! Been interested in this since the kick starter campaign and at this price I had to get it to try it out. Looking forward to it!

At a recent "digging competition" at an LNT workshop among hikers, the Deuce and a similar item from Montbell won.

The old lightweight hiker stand-bys of a foot, a stick and a ti peg did terribly. The old-school orange shovel did dig an adequate hole, but had trouble with hard dirt.

With more use on the longer trails at a concentrated time, good idea to take a sub-1oz potty trowel perhaps.
