Thanks Dan,

It worked on my PC, my iPhone and my Mac so I don't know if this is a localized problem or not.

Best regards, Jon

Cool Jon!

What is involved for me to make a nice end-product?

Jon, I did not see a way to include the phrase during my purchase, is there a way to contact you with the phrase outside of paypal?

thanks!

Todd,

You would be sent a letter with these contents: the stove, a baseplate, a paper clip and instructions on how to build your stove. The metal parts are unfinished and you will need to remove the sharp edges by filing, sanding, steel wool, whatever. The stove requires two bends and the baseplate four. The stove is held together with a paperclip.

When I sell the assembled version, I de-burr and polish all edges and spot weld the handle together in 4-6 places.

Stephen, no worries about not sending the catchphrase, you'll still get the discount.

Hi Jon,

I'm in and ordered last night. Curious though, what do you recommend for height of a pot stand above the Epicurean? I have some Ti sheeting and hope to make a windscreen before the stove kit arrives. Also I noticed your windscreens are pretty tight around the pots – is there a minimum distance you'd recommend from pot to windscreen just for good airflow?

Lastly, what do you think of using this stove with a pot like the Olicamp XTS – hard anodized aluminum? I have a Snow Peak Ti pot (mini-solo kit), that should be perfect for one, but the Olicamp gives me a little more volume if I'm cooking for 2-3 folks. Is there a reason the fins and/or anodized aluminum would not work as well with the Epicurean stove?

Thanks for the great product and "deal"

Bob,

All of our stoves are designed around a 1.75" ground to pot distance. It is difficult to recommend a pot to windscreen distance as this depends on your inlet and outlet vents (size, position and frequency). Also the concentricity of your pot to windscreen is pretty critical. Our cooking systems are designed to run oxygen starved (but this is more important for an alcohol stove than an Esbit stove).

A good starting point would be a 1/4" to 3/8" annular gap.

My experience is that HX pots work well with "high velocity" exhaust flames: canister stoves. I suspect that the low velocity alcohol and Esbit exit velocities flow around the fins and less through. Of course, this is only an opinion, other will probably dis-agree.
