Any insiders with the scoop ?
( itching to spend my dividend $ )

Dividend very often shows up near Pi day.
Member appreciation event which includes last years dividend and a 20% off coupon (good for 1 full price items, some exceptions) will start on March 27th.
Dividends from 2014 will be loaded onto REI store computers by March 27th, by the start of the 20% coupon sale.
Much of this season's new stuff is available, including Sea to Summit pads, MSR Windboiler stoves and Jetboil MiniMo, and the Sierra Designs Tensegrity tents. REI also has the new Osprey Atmos and Aura AG packs – not ultralight, but pretty innovative and comfortable.
Yes, I am a shamelessly enthusiastic employee and co-op member who also looks forward to dividend time.
(Edited for clarification.)
I can't remember since I didn't buy anything during the dividend/20% sale last year – is the 20% coupon good on any full price item? If so I'm hoping to get an Xtherm Max or one of the new Exped mats (any idea when those come in?).
"is the 20% coupon good on any full price item?"
As mentioned in another thread, PLBs, electronics, and a few other items are excluded. Read the fine print to keep those expectations in check.
I was thinking of the MSR Windboiler, but I like the really old stoves, so may only get new gaiters. Newest stove model I have is the MicroRocket for long trips when alky stoves are not allowed. Optimus 8's and 111's rock! And the Radius 43 and the………………………

Any news on when REI will get the Flylite? Arrives at MSR mid-April.
No word yet, but I would expect stores to see it about 2 weeks after MSR gets the shipment.
I see my tax return disappearing…I'd forgotten about the dividend and 20% off.
I've been thinking about replacing my Jetboil Flash with a Minimo because simmering is challenging in the Flash. I about scalded my hands in a Flash because I was trying to get it to simmer some pasta with just a hair higher flame. That hair doubled the flame size and it boiled over as fast I got my hand off the adjuster. Dirty looks from my ensued as my swearing was enjoyed by all.
Here's also to hoping that the Exped Hyperlite MW is out to replace my REI Stratus LW to save 11.5 oz.
The Flylite would be cool to see in person. I enjoy the 29sqft in my Copper Spur UL2, but to have the same space in half the weight. Very tempting…

"I see my tax return disappearing"
What on earth does your tax return have to do with anything?
Do you really mean your tax refund?

Bob, indeed you are correct. See what dividends and discounts on upgraded gear do to me?!?
:)
Well thank you for the clarification question Bob. Your inputs to the forum make it so much easier to read, as I'm sure no one had any idea what he was referring to when he wrote 'tax return'. I mean, how could we? Without people like you to get clarification on such wording we would all be at a loss. Thanks again!

Yes, thanks Bob. I thought he was planning on using his Tax Return (the forms he submits to the government) to try to buy something! I mean, imagine that! He goes from HR Block to REI and picks out a new jacket and at the cashier he hands them his tax return and says "I would like to pay with this." Cashier rolls eyes and says "Sorry you can't do that."
Bob, without your helpful clarification (and careful nitpicking), people reading this forum might have tried to do this also, with comic (or comi-tragic?) results.
Grossed out again!
Dave, there are many readers here who live outside of the U.S., and they don't understand the common abuse of the English language. It is a belief thing, also. I believe in stating what I really mean, and not force the reader to try to guess what I really mean.

Reminder that there are people that read things and express themselves very literally. It does not necessarily mean they are picking at others, it is just part of who they are.
For a second there I thought that Katharina was just being catty.
–B.G.–
Continuing the joke a bit further…
REI cashier says, âThanks, but I see here at the bottom of your tax return that you OWE taxes, youâre not getting a refundâ. Guy says, âRight, so go ahead and ring that up too. Iâm trying to maximize my dividend for next year.â
"I believe in stating what I really mean, …"
… and if you stopped there it would be wonderful.
Touting a pedantic perfectionism for the benefit of ESL's is a bit of a stretch.
Not being "catty" Bob :)
I just have people in my life that are very literal and I know the intention is often not as perceived by others.
Hmmmmmm.
Along the lines of the defense of the literal, maybe the most literal way of reading his "tax return" sentence (especially if not capitalized) is what he expects to be returned to him on his taxes.
That said, adding in a "what on earth!" level of exasperation with a perceived, possible misuse of a couple words (that EVERYONE understands in context) seems like taking it simply beyond a clarifying statement.
p.s. However, BPL's extensive intersection of those UL hikers who are ESL readers with a keen interest in following U.S. tax code all thank you for the clarification.
Hey now…
-Edit-
Bob – I agree, let's bring the thread back on track.
I would think that most BPL members would want to raise the level of discussion here, not to try to lower it down to the level of Twitter. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
