The TACTIKKA XP and TACTIKKA XP ADAPT are essentially the same headlamp. The latter works out of the box with Petzl’s new ADAPT multi-mount lighting system (and is available as an add-on accessory for the other headlamp). These single 1-watt LED headlamps are designed for a variety of outdoor uses including most moderate backcountry uses especially in circumstances where having multiple colored lights is advantageous. These headlamps weigh 59 grams without their 3 AAA batteries.
In Boost Mode these headlamps can throw a narrow or wide-angle beam up to 50 meters for 20 seconds. At lower power settings these headlamps can still throw a beam out to 35 meters. Different colored lights can be used be placing the appropriate colored lens in front of the emitter. You can place red, green, or blue lens in front of the emitter or leave them in their storage compartment to achieve a white color. In situations where you do not want to compromise your night vision being able to switch to a color such as red may be useful.
The ADAPT System lets you mount these, and other Petzl headlamps that support it, in different positions. This new system lets you quickly move the headlamp from one point on your body to another. For example, to your belt or harness or directly on to a climbing helmet.
- In Boost Mode the headlamps will throw a beam up to 50 meters for up to 20 seconds
