Can someone who has purchased a ZPacks tarp tell me what it ships with? Cordage, lineloks, repair materials? I emailed them on Monday and still have not heard back. I realize I am being impatient here, but I want to the tarp for an upcoming trip and time is getting short. I may just order it with additional cordage and hardware if no one knows. Thanks in advance! DougJun 12, 2019 at 8:40 pm #3597454
Disregard this question. They got back to me. In case you were purchasing a tarp and wondering – they ship with no cordage or hardware.Jun 12, 2019 at 9:55 pm #3597468

Yeah, I got one earlier this year and it’s the tarp and a stuff sack, that’s it.Jun 21, 2019 at 2:23 pm #3598695
Does Joe Valesko still own Z packs? I was on their website recently and the experience raises the question that Joe is now the honorary/owner emeritus?Jun 21, 2019 at 6:28 pm #3598714

I don’t see how a modern website means Joe no longer owns the company. The company is doing well enough that they now have a CEO that’s not Joe.Jun 21, 2019 at 6:59 pm #3598720
l wasn’t actually seeking an opinion here but factual knowledge. Your reply seems slightly defensive for no apparent reason. Just the facts ma’m.Jun 21, 2019 at 10:07 pm #3598735

How would the website experience indicate a change in ownership?Jun 24, 2019 at 5:15 am #3599031

The FLA Sec of State still lists Joe as the Pres of the Corporation as of Feb ’19. For updates, contact the SofS, or check again online after Feb 2020.Jun 24, 2019 at 11:44 am #3599039

There was a post on the ZPacks FB page this weekend advertising $40 off their rain jackets. One of hte comments indicated that they offered teh discount at the same time they were raising the price by $40. I don’t know whether this is true but if it is, it seems like something Joe or his new CEO may want to address. I’ not sure which would reflect more poorly on Zpacks: if it were true or if it weren’t and they ignored it. Just my 2¢…Jun 28, 2019 at 8:26 pm #3599798
On a side note. Received my tarp with the additional hardware I ordered and I love it! Very well made. Love the camo DCF. My initial post wasn’t intended as a dig; I just wanted to know what I needed. Buying a few pieces of hardware is not that big of deal; and quite honestly allows you to purchase what you want. I just didn’t want to buy something it already shipped with. It’s my first DCF product. No one here mentions the bulk of DCF. I was surprised how much more space the tarp takes up folded than my Sil tarps.
As just an occasional purveyor of their website it seems like they are trying to make it easy to navigate and graduate it to the next level; at the same time some needed info is not there any longer. It will probably come back with customer feedback. Just my .2C. Welcome to the difficulties of growing a company. I was in no way dissatisfied with feedback, lead times, or the product itself. I am glad it’s an option on the market.Jun 29, 2019 at 3:31 pm #3599907
The smoothness of the new website along with the other makeovers gave me pause for just a second and the thought that possibly Joe had sold the company. Then I happened upon the, “about,” section of Z packs.com with the portrait picture of Joe and a list of all of his hikes, slightly eulogistic in nature, giving me the feeling, to me at least, that Joe was, “out there,” and not “here” as in the shop working while a top notch hand picked crew was taking care of business.
I in no way meant this inquiry to be derogatory and was merely trying to fill a possible information gap created by maybe my missing the news that, “Z packs had new owners,” and not to question at all the supreme quality of Z packs products or suggest a new, lesser way of doing business. Obviously thoughts can be dangerous and get a guy in trouble for publishing them without the utmost care in the phrasing of them. Seriously with no sarcasm or cynicism or scorn.
Loyalty oath: I, John, presently own several Zpack products; these products are still in use by me today; I have experienced nothing but superior, exemplary customer support from Z packs. Sincerely, John
