Hi,
I’m wanting to replace the 2mm cords on my Duplex tent with 1.2mm. Can I just swap out the cords or do I need to change out the hardware as well?

If you have standard Lineloc 3 hardware like this photo it’s going to slip with 1.2mm line. Just my $.02 but the minuscule weight savings might not be worth the hassle and tangled lines.
Z-packs site specs the dyneema core polyester sheathed 1.2mm z-line as working with their micro line-locks. I’ve used the line for several years and the 2 things I specifically appreciate about the line is the way it holds knots but they’re easy to undo (the sheath has a nice textured finish, grabs and holds but keeps some space, doesn’t tend to sort of meld together into an almost welded type knot the way some cord and rope can) and it’s almost wiry stiffness. You almost fold it into loops for storage. As the description on the site claims you can wrap it around a limb a few times and not even hove to tie a hard knot for something like a clothes-line or just as a temp set-up. Just clings to itself and the bark. No problems tangling. Used it on a 8 x 10 tarp used (mostly) as a hammock tarp, and an original hexamid; but soon will try it out on a new duomid if changing the linelocs isn’t a major hassle.
That may be the question. How are your linelocs attached? Sewn loops?
I’ve just received some of the micro linelocs to try out with the new duomid maybe as a door set-up or as tie-lines for the pole/peak but haven’t used them with the 1.2 YET. I’ve just been using sheet-bend loops and adjusting the stakes with the hexamid and hammock/ tarp so can’t verify the micro-linelocs with the 1.2mm but again really like the stiffness of the 1.2 and the tenacious surface texture.
