I have a Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo with a broken YKK #3 zipper on the rain fly. The zipper will separate above the zipper pull. I replaced the zipper pull but this did not fix the problem. I also cleaned and lubricated the zipper with M Essentials Zip Care Liquid Zipper Cleaner and Lubricant, but this did not fix the problem either. As far as I can tell, the teeth on the zipper are in decent condition. Has anyone encountered this, and if so, how did you resolve it?

I replaced it with a #5. I think #3 is a little light for a tent.
I’ve encountered that on clothing that was getting worn otherwise and threw it away. There’ll be a period where it fails some but I can get it to work again if I’m careful
Sometimes, when I’ve need a YKK zipper, I’ve found it cheaper on a jacket, raincoat (or less commonly, on a tent or sleeping bag) at a thrift store than buying one new. Obviously, check it very careful for condition and function, but sometimes I’ve found what I needed same-day instead of waiting for something to be delivered.
