Does anyone have any experience using the Zip brand fuel cubes for boiling water? I can’t seem to find much from any actual users regarding the product.
Without actually having one to weigh, based on total package weight I gather each cube might be anywhere between .75 ounces to 1 ounce.. Curious if the Zip cube avoids the nasty soot and smell from Esbit, which may justify the additional weight to some.

Sierra Trading Post has an 8 count for $2.99 which seems pretty reasonable.

Thanks for any help!

* So far I have not been able to find any MSDS information. Any ideas?
* I note that a block is meant to burn for 18 minutes. Can you shut it off after, say, 9 minutes and save the rest for the next meal?Cheer
