Your WARMEST mitten liners?

I have one, the Austrian made Dachstein boiled wool liners that kept me warm (inside shells) at -40 F. in the 1079 Pre-Olympics at Lake Placid. I was just amazed at their performance. I began by wearing US Army wool glove liners with them but soon removed the gloves as they were TOO hot!

My other liners, not tested below -5 F., are double layer thick fleece liners. I think they might be as warm as the Dachsteins. They feel very soft and comfortable and at -5 F. were very warm.

may look into those. my hands are notoriously cold ever since i frost bit/nip them over 20yrs ago and as a result came down with a 2ndary case of Raynaud’s….

i started cold plunging late last year and i swear it’s helping my hands

@eric
do you have a link or something where you purchased them?

Same problem and cause.  My hands have been notably warmer (though not a giant leap) with no change in mitts or fleece liner since I added nytril liners as vbls

Hey josh, not night and day and no miracles but a cheap and easy hack worth trying.  let me move to warmer cheap wool mitts without fear of them getting wet (and cold) from sweat

I have rubbed Sno Seal wax into my Dachstein boiled wool mittens and heated them with a hair drier.
I repeated this 4 times. I wanted to five the mittens more water.vapor resistance.

Maybe the double layered thick fleece liners are just as good as tehDachsteins but not as proven in my own experience. Certainly they will dry faster.
