I was going to try and get a permit for the Wonderland Trail this summer but they cancelled the  reservation process this year.  I am going to put together a trip in Yosemite.  I am looking at starting at  White Wolf-Pate Valley TH.  I would like to do the Grand Canyon of Tuolumne then continue north on the PCT to Matterhorn Canyon over Burro Pass, Mule Pass, Crown Lake, Peeler Lake, Kerrick Meadows, Seavey Pass, Smedberg Lake and Back to TM.

Couple of questions, thoughts, and logistics.

  1.  I was going to start at Robinson Creek TH in Twin Lakes.  I think the logistics of starting in Yosemite and ending is easier.  I also did not want to gain so much elevation quickly.  Starting at White Wolf will give me time to get the old trail legs working.
  2. I will also resupply in TM after the Grand Canyon of Tuolumne.
  3. Can someone speak to the fishing on the described itinerary?
  4. I am looking at going late August and solo.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Eric
