I’m heading up there for New Years through the 3. Plan to camp New Year’s Eve at upper pines then backpack to LYV for two nights. Anyone know what the trail conditions are like?

Right now snow is below 4000 feet, and the trails on the south side of the Valley are deep in snow,. 4 mile trail is closed, and so is the Mist Trail.
Best to check with the rangers when you get there because this changes daily or more often—but we just had a big storm with lots of snow, and it isn’t warming up, so the snow isn’t going anywhere….
