XSL 2015 ~ Cross Country SEKI Loop ~

Nine days of Cross Country travel in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park.

In the spirit of Amy Lauterbach’s BSL aka Big SEKI Loop and Mike White’s Circle of Solitude I decided to create my own loop through the Sequoia & Kings Canyon area. . . but I wanted to stay off existing trails and use cross country routes as much as possible. At times bad weather chased me down to lower elevation but in the end I crossed 7 High Sierra passes over 81 miles.

For the whole story check out:

“Alone, in a little tent surrounded by howling animals after an extreme storm at 11,000 feet.”

I don’t know how I missed this one! Another creative route that covers some of the very finest the Sierra has to offer. Thanks for sharing, Andy. I really enjoyed tagging along on on this one.

Got cabin fever already. Fran and I were looking up trip ideas for next year and I said, “woh, Fran, you gotta come look at this.” Lo and behold–it’s Andy’s site! Hope you’re doing well! As always, your blog is incredibly inspiring. – Nick, Fran, and Hazel

Thanks Nick. Meeting you, Frances and Hazel in Humphries Basin was a huge morale boost after trekking solo for so long. I really appreciate your enthusiasm and encouragement!
