hi all. Does anyone have experience with the WM Ponderosa? I’m thinking about it but I can’t find info on whether or not it has a draw string at the head to cinch around the neck. Anyone know the answer to this as well as comment on the warmth of the bag? I’m thinking about getting the overfill option to push it to 5-7 degrees. Thx

I happen to have two of these Ponderosa gems, which I purchased in 2005 and 2007. The latter purchase was a slightly lighter bag, as they had changed the outer material. They both have draw cords at the top, which I’ve never employed. My main interest was to have the two bags zip together for a luxury bed-for-two. I like how roomy each bag is, being of a barrel-shape. Used individually, they are easily warm down to +15* F while just wearing base layers as ‘pajamas’ to keep the bag clean. I expect that you would be warm down to +5-10* F if you also layered some more down via a hoody and pants (maybe also some down booties?)
Western Mountaineering makes some beautiful sleeping bags.
Great. Much appreciated Gary. Thank you!
