Rain chaps have been a thing for quite some time but I’m not sure if this type of chaps has been done.
I recently was reminded what a hassle it can be to remove or rezip convertible pants.
I decided to make a set of chaps out of a calendared (wind resistant), light weight material.
The set weighs 2.5 oz.
Spending close to a week camping recently, it seems my legs start feeling the coolness at about 50 – 55 degrees.
Therefore, I am about to make another set out of Alpha Direct 4000, which weighs about 2.5 oz per sq yard.
I may just use a snap on each leg to secure it to the shell.
