you guys know if a Bearicade Weekender, Scout, or BV450 will fit horizontally in a ZPACKS Arc Haul.  What about the metal bar across the back of the backpack, does it get in the way or affect the fit of the canister at all?  I’ve seen the straps that mount to the top…I’m not sure if its secure enough for me…and i’m not sure I like the weight there.  I could be wrong about that though?

I have the BV500 and that doesn’t fit horizontally but the Weekender is much shorter.  The BV 500 is way too much food for me.  I mostly solo hike and am only out about 4 days between stops.

Thanks.

I have a Bearikader Blazer and I have carried it vertically. The middle flat bar doesn’t get in the way too much if you arch it slightly. Too much of arch and it will hit the bar – but can be managed.

Since Scout has the same diameter as Blazer, Weekender etc, and it has a length of only 8 inches and arc haul is 12.5 long – it should be fit horizontally is my guess. With Blazer, if you can fit 3 days of food and keep the current days of food – you should be good.

The Scout should easily fit four days of food, especially if you carry the first day’s lunch and dinner. Easily! I’m not familiar with your pack and the crossbar. I carried the Scout horizontally in my pack with room at the ends to stuff socks and other soft cloth items on each side.
