Whwre to purchase h5 shakedry or similar?

I bought mine at Sierra Trading Post, but they don’t seem to be sold out.   As far as I know the H5 was the only one that supposedly used the heavier duty Shakedry, but don’t know that for sure.   There seem to be a lot of cycling and running cut jackets out there, but there are some that look like more backpacking related cuts from Mont-Bell, Mountain Equipment, and Haglofs.  They might be worth checking out if you want Shakedry.  There are also quite a few people that have used the Arcteryx Norvan SL and The North Face Hyperlight shakedry jackets for backpacking – some with better results then others.

A number of other manufacturers make jackets out of the heavier “hike” material That is claimed to be suitable for backpack use. Mountain equipment, Kathmandu (I got mine at about half the price other brands go for – it feels very thin though!), and montane are three off the top of my head.

There seems to be no edit button anymore?

Montbell’s Shakedry jacket is described as not really for backpacking.

We see this jacket demonstrating its true value on missions that are short and don’t require heavy packs; like light mountain climbing and speed hikes. Backpackers with heavier loads or thru-hikers that have a light pack but intend to use it every day for 6 months would be better off going with a different option.

Mountain Equipment use the H5 variant on their Impellor Shakedry. They also have a non-shakedry Impellor, so beware.

I’m not sure which one it was specifically, but I saw a shakedry jacket at REI in Portland, OR a few days ago.

The edit button comes up on the bar after I post.  Before that, in the composing box, I can delete and rewrite as with a word processor.  But if I leave the post, or restart the PC, the edit button is lost.  It also times out, but don’t know the time interval.

Brad, it seems in line with recommendations for the other “hike” shakedry jackets – they basically say suitable for ultralight backpacking, which is, to my understanding, the target audience of the “hike” shakedry material.

Sam, I was posting a couple of hours later – maybe thats enough to time out. I was also using my phone, though in the past i’ve always been able to see the edit button on phone.
