I spent Saturday with a trail crew outside of Yosemite, working to remove trees and maintain trails in the Sierra National Forest.  Just wondering how many here do anything similar….and if anyone else would like to join the crews around Mariposa?

A short summary of the crew here: https://www.backpackthesierra.com/post/more-mariposa-trail-crew-action

thanks for doing that

I often take my folding saw and clear branches off trails.  A lot of times an impassable tangle of branches can be removed, sort of like “pick up sticks”

Yep.  Working on a trail crew does change the way I hike a bit.  I can’t remember that last time I hiked a trail and didn’t do some clearing/cleanup along the way…

sawing big logs takes a crew

if I can do the little stuff, I figure they can do the big stuff, won’t be slowed down

I’ve gone in groups too, that’s good.  We re-routed a trail.  A lot of digging
