Hi, I am in the market for a new rain jacket. I have an old, fancy Arcteryx Alpha whatever that is just not up to the job. I am not that impressed by the magic of fancy membranes, so I was looking for something that is actually waterproof (the fancy membranes are also sweaty like crazy unless it is cold and I am doing little, so I spend all my time managing condensation anyway).
I have two options I can see:

Do people have any experience with either? Also, I’d rather get something similar *made in Europe* for the simple reason it would take less time to arrive, shipping would be cheaper and there would not be extra custom charges, but if that is not possible I think it is a choice between the two above.
When it is actually warm I prefer a poncho with a belt in case you are wondering.
