I need a tarp for thanksgiving trip and wanted to get a duomid-style tarp with perimeter netting. Unfortunately it’s very last minute and MLD has a 7 week shipping window.
Anyone know of similar tarps/ tents that are readily available?

With the perimeter netting, in stock… unlikely
https://bivysack.com/ (aka owareusa) isn’t as well known and might have a 2 person pyramid in stock.

Deschutes Plus too small?

Ah, thanks. Will check out Oware, hadn’t heard of them.
Yeah I am considering the deschutes plus, but it looks harder to set up than pyramid style.. I had a hexamid solo and a bear paw 2 person for two different thru hikes and found the latter much easier to set up properly.
Do you have experience with it or know if it’s easy to set up? Also if it could squeeze 2 people or too small
I wonder if anyone on BPL would be willing to rent you one? I’m sure there are tons of 2-man pyramids sitting in closets. Shipping wouldn’t be much.
MSR and other vendors that sell 4 season tents have 4 season tarps with sod skirts. For example, the Twin Sisters.
Would a sod skirt do the trick. or are you really looking for ventilation and the ability to block flying insects???
Jeff, rectangular mids are much easier to pitch than a Deschutes night my experience. It’s not hard to pitch the SMD but it’s rectangles are much faster for me.
Is the plus the same size as a normal Deschutes? If so, I wouldn’t want to put two people in there unless they were very small and intimate or if it was an emergency.
yeah — I like the deschutes but I am worried it is going to be just as hard to set up as the hexamid was. I got used to it after doing it every single day but not great for when you aren’t thru hiking. I really like the pure mid styles where you don’t have to worry about pole angles in the middle of a wind/rain storm. I always end up with one side too high or low. I think the MLD mid with perimeter netting would be ideal for me, just didn’t plan far enough ahead… Renting/borrowing is a good idea though — is there a place on BPL for that? I am in the bay area so I imagine a lot of others are as well…
by the way, I will be in costa rica during rainy season in the jungle with lots of mosquitos and who knows what other jungle creatures. So I am really looking for netting!

Would a inner net tent with bathtub + sealable floor matched with tarp be a better choice?
