What Shelters work with the MLD Solo XL Inner Net?

I looked at pairing the Deschutes with an XL Inner, but I think the Xl Inner will be too tall, so youll have some sag that will reduce the interior space.

I really leaning towards the Zpacks Hexamid Solo Plus Tarp with the MLD Solo- XL Innernet. Does anyone have any experience with the two? The HexaNet Bug Shelter by packs looks to have the same hight at 48″, but the MLD innernet has smaller foot print by 6″ in length and 6″ in width. I assuming because the Zpacks had and angled bathtub floor where as MLD is a vertical walled bathtub floor. Don’t know why Zpacks stopped making HexaNet Bug Shelter, seemed nice to have the option of not using it if not needed.

I noticied your gear swap post. Looks like it didn’t work. Was it too wide or what didn’t fit? Going with a regular sized inner?

In a pinch it could work but the inner was just about 3-4 inches to long. The tarp covered the netting but only by about an 1 1/2″ on the back wall corners. On that note I’d rather be safe than sorry. Both the MLD and ZPacks products are amazing in quality so it kills me I have to use a different inner. I’m debating the Bear Paw inner but I have hear good and bad things about the quality so in nervous if it doesn’t fit I’ll be stuck with it. I wish ZPacks still made the inner for the hexamid ☹️

Are you too tall for the regular solo inner? Or an SMD serenity? Those both fit.

I’m tall but not so tall those options wouldn’t work. I emailed Ron at MLD to see what the actual size difference is between the Solomid standard and the Solomid XL. The specs on the Solomid XL where much different than on his website, my Solomid XL measured 88″ not 90″. So If the Solomid standard innernet was actually 84-85″ vs the 87″ advertised I will probably buy it. I Found some info today surfing the net about the SMD fitting the Hexamid Solo Plus, so thats probably going to be an option too. The one thing I liked though about Bear Paws Hexamid option is looks just like what Zpacks use to do, but I don’t know if it will fit the Hexamid Solo Plus. This has kinda spun outa control but Hexamid won my heart the second i put it up.
