Bullitt group ( the makers of Motorola Defy)has gone under. Their ability to provide future services is in question. Hopefully for all that already own one of their products they find away to continue service, but as of now it doesn’t look good.

FocusPoint provides the SOS and search and rescue support for Defy and is still healthy, “will remain committed to Defy customers” and are in “ongoing dialog with Motorola and key stakeholders”

I wonder how long they want to keep that up if no one picks up manufacturing and selling the hardware. As the underlying infrastructure supporting it evolves and with no one to develop firmware updates, the device could become unsupportable.
