Father’s day, June 16 2024. Spending the day on the beaches of Robert Moses State Park and Fire Island. Usually we park at field 4 but today it was closed, so we drove to field 5. There is a nice outside bar near the restrooms to grab a ridiculously expensive drink.. perhaps a spicy watermelon tequila margarita to begin the long day? Beach walking and village hopping approximately 4.5 – 5 miles each way in the blazing sun.. stopping for some packed snacks and fresh fruits.. some lazy beach time, nice lunch and Rocket Fuels on the bayside.. and plenty of crisp Ocean waves crashing alongside. This was a great day and a reminder why its nice to live on an island
