Light and ultralight hikers are well suited to trail work – why? because you can add tools to your kit and not be so weighed down you can’t move.

Wilderness Corps maintains many trails in Sierra National Forest – work is done inside and outside wilderness areas (John Muir, Dinkey, Kaiser and Ansel Adams are all partially within Sierra NF) and we also support visitor services, OHV and OSV programs. That means we need lots of different people – we have a volunteer position to man the High Sierra Ranger Station on the other side of Kaiser Pass, a primo job, with a cabin and the best view from the back porch that you could ask for. We have saw crews to cut the trees and fix the trail tread. We pick up trash out of sno parks, off trails, or anywhere else we go. We remediate illegal campsites. We have something for everyone.

And if nothing else we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit, donations are tax deductible.
