Saw this online last night and thought I would share. None of the boots they are outfitting this on look particularly applicable to most styles of hiking on this site, but the technology looks interesting. If they could make sure the durability was there, and applied it to lightweight shoes and boots, this could find a niche in lightweight backpacking. I have very little experience on snow and ice, but just thought I would share.

As an Alaskan, I’ve always liked Vibram soles. The rubber seems to do quite well on ice and snow.
I read about these last spring and saw a few videos, it was interesting but they are only grippy for about 200 miles of wear. HEREÂ is an article from Gear Junkie from March
