Heavy rain today so out walking the dog in my Precip pants I wetted out in seconds. They’re old and have been treated so time to look for a new pair.

Right now the Vertice and Arcteryx Zeta SLs are within $10 of each other. Last year on several long hikes I encountered very wet high foliage for abt 5 miles. The precips held up ok (tho totally wetted out) but concerned the Vertice might not have. Weight difference is 5.2 oz.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I use Arc’Teryx Zeta pants.. i think FL.. or SLnot sure.. i forget which ones. They have Side zips which are great. They are great pants.  I especially love them in winter on my trips in wet snow. Rain? They have held up awesome so far also. They roll up and pack nice and small.. lightweight also.. after about a year and half having and using, nothing bad to say and i have given up searching for a shell now that i use the pants and jacket.</p>

I just looked at them  They are Zeta SL.  Not sure what the difference is.. SL and ZL. Super light/ Fast light?  I forget what the differences are..

Anyway.. i use the SL and I LOVE them. Very expensive.. if you can get them on sale,  do it!!  I would not hesitate to buy another pair when the time comes.

Yeah I totally agree. Have the SL version pant and  FL jacket. They are amazing. Packs down very small and light. Double++plus plus on finding with a sale

*the FL stands for ‘Effin Light
