Carry an umbrella.
Did Colin Fletcher start this when he hiked the length of the Grand Canyon? (The Man Who Walked Through Time)
Thanks Paul. Gave me a smile as well. Â I am sure people were doing nude hiking long before Colin Fletcher… but he is the first person that I recall writing about it. Â I seem to recall Colin was still wearing heavy socks and boots.
“The Man From the Cave” ,  ( Colin Fletcher} Chuckwalla Bill had a hand dug cave just north of Desert Hot Springs.  Undocumented, very close to documented property. Hidden behind some brush, near a spring that smells like sheep.

Not so good for bushwhacking thru the briar patch !
Not so good for mosquitoe season either … unless bathing in DEET.
Read about a recent repeat PCT thru hiker who’s gone to a shorts, footwear, and DEET “wardrobe”, the latter mixed somehow with sunscreen (or was that citronella?), in the prime summer season.  One way to cut laundry costs.
I have a “Hike Naked” patch on one of my backpacks. Just promoting hiking as light as possible…Or am I? :) HYOH
