USGS ends walk-in map sales in Menlo Park, CA

To improve security, the U.S. Geological Survey closed the Menlo Park map store to the public:

I used to enjoy sifting through stacks of real, high-quality paper maps there. Most of my map browsing is online now, printed at home or FedEx.

Seems like many backpackers use smartphone apps instead of paper maps. Most of those apps use USGS base maps, with enhancements.
