Hi All…

I travel with a Six Moon Gatewood Cape as my shelter and rain gear.  I’ve always loved how it performs for both.  In addition, right now I carry a Patagonia Houdini jacket + pants as my wind block-mosquito barrier and light rain shell.  The Houdini isn’t meant to be waterproof (only worn the jacket 2x in town and the pants never) and looking for a more waterproof option.  Wondering whether the Mens Helium II Jacket and Pants would be a better option even though it’s a few ounces heavier.  Thinking about selling the Houdini combo (on BPL) and getting the Helium combo… thoughts??

I think the place to start is: what problem are you trying to solve? You say you love how the gatewood cape performs as rain gear, so why are you looking for more rain gear?

Guess I’m looking for multi use as with everything else. Sometimes in a small drizzle I’d rather put on a quick jacket thank the Cape.

Also I could use the Jacket on day hikes when I don’t have the Cape.

In a small drizzle the Houdini should be fine.
