I’d really appreciate any input from users past or present of the ULA Photon 35l pack. My plan is to use for longer days out, especially with my wife; winter day hikes in New England with lots of puffy stuff; and maybe a 3-season overnighter now and again.
My specific concerns are
- how the sit pad nests inside, and whether a bigger pad (eg, X-Therm or Z Lite) would work well.
- How do those stretchy side pockets work? Worth it to pony up a little extra $$$ for CDT-style pockets?
- What about the stretchy stuff-it pocket? I’ve seen a comments somewhere saying it makes sense to go with beefier material (a la Circuit, which I have and love!).
- What about the hip belt pockets? They seem tiny at 35 Cu In. Big enough for a beanie or a pair of gloves?
- Last thing: thumbs up or thumbs down; anything else in the size/weight/price range you’d recommend?
