Two bodies, one quilt. How does this affect temperature ratings?

My partner and I share a Underground Quilts Flight Jacket. We have a 20F, and it has worked great for us. We haven’t taken it below 30F yet. We’re almost the same height/weight. Typically spoon when we sleep.

Due to two bodies under a quilt rated for 20F for one person, how is the temperature rating changed?

That is hard to answer beyond what you must have already observed yourself, that two bodies keep each other warmer . There are a lot  of factors that affect temperature rating for just one person….add another body and it gets even more complicated. How much of your bodiea stick out from that shared one person quilt? How much  do either of you move during the night? Do you both wear the same type of clothing ( or?) at night? What pad or pads are you using?

Richard that is great! I was actually curious about a 50F quilt as well so I’ll have to look into your math! Thanks!
