Hi fellow backpacking gear nerds!
I am currently on the hunt for a new 2 person tent and thought I’d reach out for advice. I recently sold two tents in hopes that I could find one tent that suits both needs; a 4-season tent that is light/versatile enough to also use in 3 season conditions. I am looking at the tarptent arcdome, samaya 2.0, samaya inspire, durston xdome, and a few others. I like that these all pitch fly first, use very few stakes and poles for quick set up, and most of these can accommodate two wide pads.
I’ve been leaning towards the arcdome and I’d love the 2P with the partial solid inner but the partial solid inner has been sold out for a while and I don’t think we’re supposed to get inventory for a while. I could purchase the 1P tent with a 2P solid inner but that would eliminate the vestibule space. This is mainly what I’m stuck on: whether to wait for the 2P tent partial solid inner, get a different tent altogether, get the 1P arcdome with the 2P inner and simply keep gear inside the tent.
I’ve got treks in Greenland and Canada coming up so I’d hope to get a tent soon.
Let me know your advice, thanks everyone!
