A tag on my Eddie Bauer Peak XV expedition parka with “trackmydown.com” on it and a lot number led me to the website and to the fact that the down was gray European goose down of 883 fill power.

Nice to know that EB used down that exceeded the advertised 800 fill power.

AND from their other tags they used a DWR process on it. Very nice.

Eric, that’s cool. I’ll have to look mine up. I bought the same jacket based on your recommendation in another thread when it was on that uber-sale. Great piece of gear and the price was right.

Cool feature.

I was lucky enough to get one of those famous and exceptional New Balance Fugu down jackets used, and pretty reasonably priced (here). Don’t know where the down came from and exact fill power. But the thing is ridiculously warm. I usually reserve for my spouse when she rarely comes on a winter trip with me.  Or when I go out during the rare Polar Vortexes that make their way down to the northern part of the south east of the US.

Eric, European down measuring results in higher number than US measuring standards.

Nice to know you can track your down to where it originated.

Eric, our down may have come from the same lot. I also got European Grey Goose @ 883 fill power.

Dena,

I think you are correct.

BTW, I’ve opened the top of the interior zipper baffle and stuffed with 800 fill DWR treated down. Better seal.
