Toxic Algae Bloom suspected in hiking family’s death !

Thanks for the update. The river is at 1,800 ft elevation. The family was found at 3,000 ft elevation. That is about 1,200 ft above the river.

Unfortunate and sad…and a bad way to go.

No cell service… a good reason to take your Garmin inReach or other SAT communicator…. even on a day hike…. even when you ‘think’ there might be cell service. In the summer, I keep mine in my day pack; in the winter I keep it in my ski pack… and pay for 12 months of service…. 350.00 to buy and 12/mo for service…. cheap life insurance…
